What sin has been tripping you up?
“Let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that we’ve been carrying. Let us persevere in running the race that has opened in front of us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith.” (Hebrews 12:1-2)
When we fixate on sin and see ourselves as sinners, we become what we’re looking at. When we fixate instead on Jesus, we become like him — we become who we really are, which is what God created us to be (we were made in his image) and what God gifted us with at the moment of our baptism (our sinful nature was drowned in the waters of God’s love, and we rose to new life, full of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
