We get frustrated most by circumstances we can control least. Every morning, the sunrise promises a day of blessings, but by evening we’re preoccupied with what had been unpleasant. Usually, those unpleasantries were caused by something or someone we could not control.

Should we thank God or grumble at him as we prepare to lay our weary heads on the pillow at night? Should we pray for a better tomorrow or pray for understanding of what to learn from the hardships? The answer that pleases God is: “All of the above.” Because it’s honest. Because it’s us being in a real relationship with God. And because it puts our focus back on Jesus.

“I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” – Psalm 16:8 (NIV)

We cannot control everything that touches our day, but we /can/ control how we respond to troubles. By turning to Jesus, leaning on Jesus, learning from Jesus, and crying on the shoulder of Jesus, we can get through anything. We can end each day with a smile as we nod off, resting our weary heads on the lap of Jesus.

Thank you so much for these Faith Boosters. So often they are just what I need. I am retired and in my 80s and don’t get out much, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have problems. These little snip-its do give me a boost and send me right back into Jesus’ lap where I am revived.
God bless you
