The entire Gospel of Jesus Christ – his words and his actions – is the context in which every scripture must be understood.
When we look at every verse that way, we are challenged with the next step: Do his words. Do what he did. Even when it doesn’t please us to do so. Even when we don’t yet understand that it’s good. It is then that we make our most profound discoveries of why Jesus said what he said and did what he did.
We need to bend our will to the Word of God, which means that our lives become the proof that scriptures reveal the truth about Jesus. Our lives reveal the truth about Jesus.
