When you look in the mirror, what do you see? I’ll tell you what Jesus sees. He sees a beautiful masterpiece because his Father cannot create ugly. Apparently, God thinks that warts and crooked backs and grey hairs and wrinkles and uneven eyebrows are strokes of artwork.
I’ll tell you also what God the Father sees. He sees a saint. Jesus already took your sins to his cross. Because you have accepted this sacrificial gift, when the Father looks at you now, his vision passes first through Jesus on the cross and beyond that to the redeemed you.
Accept your beauty, so that you’re not calling God a liar. Accept your sainthood, so that you can be who you really are.
