“Can anything happen without the Lord’s permission?” (Lamentations 3:37)
Nothing that happens to us is by chance. Every “coincidence” is a little miracle.
On the event of my first birthday since the passing of my father, I asked the Lord for a gift from my Dad. I asked Him to allow my Dad to give me something through His love.
Then my brother ended up in the hospital. As I arrived home after spending the day in the hospital, I thought, “Lord, was that my gift?” What kind of gift is that?
The next day, as I worked in the yard, a casual glance took my eyes to a beautiful rose shining forth through an elephant ear plant. That hidden rose bush had never bloomed! I knew instantly that this was my Dad’s birthday gift! Quickly, I clipped the rose and placed it in front of my Dad’s picture. My birthday gift!
I had been so worried about my brother, I had not seen the gift that the Lord had made right in front of my eyes. It’s a lesson of always keeping our eyes, ears and heart wide open.
What gift has the Lord shared with you this day?
