God's Word about financial adviceFinancial Advice QUESTION #1:
Where is my focus?

If I have put my trust in gold… if I have rejoiced over my great wealth, the fortune my hands have gained, then these would be sins to be judged, for I would have been unfaithful to God on high. (Job 31:24,25,28)

You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth. (Deuteronomy 8:17,18)

Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown You and say, “Who is the Lord?” Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (Proverbs 30:8,9)

Though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. (Psalm 62:10)

Whoever trusts in riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf. (Proverbs 11:28)

People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. (1 Timothy 6:9,10)

You cannot serve both God and Money. (Matthew 6:24)

Watch out! Be on guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions. (Luke 12:15)

The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the Word, but the worries of life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. (Matthew 13:22)

God's Word about financial adviceQUESTION #2: What does God require of us so we can receive His abundance?

The Lord your God will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands… if you obey the Lord your God and keep His commands and decrees… and turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 30:9,10)

Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in His commands. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. (Psalm 112:1,3)

Humility and the fear of the Lord bring wealth. (Proverbs 22:4)

Let no debt remain outstanding. (Romans 13:8)

Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. (Proverbs 10:4)

If you lend money to the needy, charge him no interest. (Exodus 22:25)

You must not lend him money at interest or sell him food at a profit. (Leviticus 25:37)

You may require payment from a foreigner, but you must cancel any debt your brother owes you. (Deuteronomy 15:3)

Don’t extort money, be content with your pay. (Luke 3:14)

If we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. (1 Timothy 6:8)

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

Honor the Lord with your wealth, then your barns will be filled to overflowing. (Proverbs 3:9,10)

On the first day of every week, set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income. (1 Corinthians 16:2)

To the place the Lord your God will choose as a dwelling for His Name — there you are to bring everything I command you: … your tithes and special gifts, and all the choice possessions you have vowed to the Lord. (Deuteronomy 12:11)

Will a man rob God? Yet you rob Me. But you ask, “How do we rob you?” In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse… because you are robbing Me. (Malachi 3:8,9)

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse…. Test Me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” (Malachi 3:10)

The man who gives freely gains even more…. A generous man will prosper. (Proverbs 11:24,25)

Whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each should give what he has decided, not reluctantly, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:6,7)

God's Word about financesQUESTION #3: Does God promise to be generous with you?

The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity…. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of His bounty… to bless all the work of your hands. (Deuteronomy 28:9,11,12)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear…. Look at the birds of the air… your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? (Matthew 6:25,26)

God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion. (2 Corinthians 9:11)
