Is there some pain in your life desperately seeking a cure? Where do you find hope? Where or to what or to whom do you turn?
Spouses who split apart but wish they could reconcile will find their path to healing when they gain hope. Christ, in the supernatural graces of the Sacrament of Marriage, offers that hope. The wisdom of his Holy Spirit gives enlightenment that reveals good reason to hope.
Likewise, spouses who refuse to split but suffer the pain of frequent heartbreak will find their path to healing when they gain hope. Christ, who suffered his Passion for us, lives in the passion of the mutual sacrifices that the husband and wife make for each other. And after every crucifixion, there’s always the hoped-for resurrection. In Christ, this is guaranteed!
Parents who suffer the loss of children, and lovers who endure the death of their beloved, and workers who suffer the termination of jobs will move on into new joy when they focus on the hope that gives the promise of reunion, heaven, or a better job opened by God.
No matter what happens to us, these three things remain: faith, HOPE, and love (1 Cor. 13:13). As long as we have faith in Christ, turn to Christ for help, and strive to love a little more like Christ each day, hope is a gift from the Holy Spirit that we can count on to bring us to the fullness of love.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.
(1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV)
