Do you feel invalid or valued? Worthless or worthy? Not good enough or good enough? Unimportant or important?
Negative attitudes about yourself can handicap you, making you an invalid in the Mission of Christ. He plans to make the world a better place through you, but he needs to heal you first.
In what ways do you feel valuable? God can do a lot with that! And he wants to. But you are more valuable to him than you realize.
The world has damaged you. It has converted your God-given value into an invalid sense of littleness. It has mishandled you, disrespected you, broken you, abandoned you. It has taught you to make compromises that reject God’s plans. It has given you a craving for self-satisfaction and getting what you want fast. It has taken away your patience for the long view of God’s slowly unfolding plans. It has trivialized what’s important and glorified what destroys.
To whatever extent you have overcome this damage, you are useful for the Mission of Christ. He can make the world a better place through you.
God can convert the bad into good, the worthless into a treasure more valuable than you can imagine. In his eyes, you are extremely valuable. Jesus died for you! God cares about you.
God wants to make the world a better place through you for one reason: You can do something that no one else can do the way you can do it. You are invaluable! In Christ, your value is limitless.
