Forgive yourself. God doesn’t expect perfection from you. Why should you?
Forgive yourself. But don’t let yourself off the hook. Learn from your mistakes. Do an act of holiness that in some way compensates for the sin that’s been making you feel ashamed. Redirect the wrong paths you have followed by converting them into ministries that lead others closer to Christ.
God doesn’t expect perfection, but he does desire growth and improvement.
God’s supernatural power to turn bad into good comes to us in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Utilize this gift to hear his words of absolution and receive supernatural grace for new strength.
Set new goals for excellence. Give God your best. But when you trip over obstacles along the way, or when you fall short of the goal, fall into the saving arms of Jesus. Forgive yourself, learn from the experience, and rejoice that all things can be used by God for your good and for his kingdom (Romans 8:28).
