A PRAYER

Dearest and most loving Father of us all,
in the name of Your Beloved Son Jesus, the Savior of the World,
and through the power and authority of His Holy Spirit,
we place into Your protective hands
all priests and religious,
all victims of abusive clergy, and
all who make decisions on how to handle such crises,
including those in Church authority and civil authority.
We ask You to flood each situation with Your holiness
by blessing it with Your goodness.
Bless the media and the non-believers who talk about it.
Bless the faithful who feel betrayed and wrestle with doubts.
Bless those who want to retaliate with revenge.
Bless those who are motivated by greed in their demands for money.
Bless the lawsuits and the lawyers.
Bless those who make false accusations.
Bless the priests who are victimized by the false accusations.
Bless all of us as we struggle to live up to Your way
of dealing with the news,
of loving our enemies,
of forgiving,
of carrying this cross with Christ.
Show us the way, O Lord,
to grow from this,
to become more like Jesus through this,
to be healed and to provide healing to those who are hurting,
and to be a Church that rescues victims
and prevents the sins that would create new victims.
Heal those who have been hurt by abusers.
Heal those who became abusers because they had been abused.
Heal those who commit abuse because of addictions.
Free them from the Enemy's grasp.
We place them and all the Church's needs
into the victory You obtained for us on Easter, dear Jesus.
Amen!

Pray the Rosary for an Increase of Holy Vocations
