September 16 (mutual support)
Gracious God, Saint Cornelius was pope during terrible persecutions, and he anguished over the sufferings of his people. Saint Cyprian was his friend and said, "Let us relieve burdens and afflictions by mutual love." He ministered to the Pope by pointing out that not a single Christian had given up the Faith. I ask these saints to pray for the relationships in my life, that we will give caring support to each other as we pass through trials. O Lord, help us to remember that You have given friends to us as gifts, because You don't want us to carry our crosses alone. Thank you for these treasures! Saints Cornelius and Cyprian, pray for us. Amen.
