It is a time of prayer, a time of being approached by Jesus.

When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. But he said to them, "It is I; don't be afraid." (John 6:19-20)

The site below used to be the location of the port village of Magdala, where Jesus arrived from Nazareth 25 miles away. The valley through which He travelled often collected storm clouds, and from here the windy squalls would move onto the Sea of Galilee.

One day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's go over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. "Where is your faith?" he asked his disciples. (Luke 8:22-25)

After returning to dry land and our bus, we pass by this ancient mode of transportation still being used today.
