We celebrate the Real Presence of Jesus in a cave behind the church ~ quite possibly where the shepherds were resting when the angel appeared to them.

And then, after Mass, as we walk back to the bus, we encounter a very common sight: vendors waiting to sell us their olive wood rosary beads, crosses, nativity scenes, shepherds' scarves, and cheap jewelry.

This is how these folks support their families. We quickly learn how to politely insist, "NO!!! I said no!" Once you catch on to the bargaining game, this is the cheapest way to take home souvineer gifts for family and friends. The challenge is, How do I show the love of Jesus to these people without buying everything they want to sell me? It is part of our growth experience!

Next, the bus takes us "home" to our hotel, where we have dinner, swap stories and insights, and rest up for tomorrow. (Note the Arabic translation of the name, indicating that this is in Palestinian-occupied territory.)
